Blue Headed Mallard

Have you ever seen a blue headed mallard? The mallards I always saw and remembered seeing from my youth always had green heads. So, when I saw this blue headed mallard on my very first official outing with my new DSLR camera (a Nikon z50) I was thrilled to be able to capture it.

What thrilled me even more was the gorgeous details I was able to capture with my new camera. The image looked amazing on the playback screen on the camera. When I came home and looked at it on my computer, I was even more amazed at the details in the coloring, the feathers, and the overall composure of the shot.

I feel privileged and lucky to have gotten such a great image of this guy on my adventures. Occasionally, I go back to the same pond to try to find another blue headed mallard but so far, I have not come across many of them.
